Tournament Presentation

This spring, from May 11 to May 17, 2026, the village of Lecci in Southern Corsica and Camping Golfo di Sogno will host their very first International Chess Open! Three different tournaments for players of all levels will be organized in partnership with the Corsican Chess League, with €32.000 in prizes, all set in an exceptional environment.

More than a tournament, a Chess Camp

You will stay on a full-board or half-board basis at Camping Golfo di Sogno. Comfortable accommodations will be offered to you in a pine forest just steps from the beach… so you can fully enjoy an experience among chess enthusiasts.

In the presence of the youngest French GM in history

Marc'Andria Maurizzi

Marc’Andria Maurizzi is a Corsican chess player, born on May 16, 2007 in Bastia:

  • International Master at twelve years old
  • Grandmaster at fourteen years old
  • World Junior Chess Champion in 2023, at sixteen years old
  • 4th ranked French player

A Tournament in a Magical Setting

Between turquoise sea, sandy beaches, and pine forest, Camping Golfo di Sogno offers nature-surrounded accommodation just 10 minutes from Porto-Vecchio town center and 30 minutes from Figari airport.

Catering

Food trucks will be installed on the site and will provide catering services. You will be offered a selection of hot dogs, burgers, as well as salads and healthy products carefully chosen from our local producers.

A small supermarket is also available.
